The magnesia blocks from WEIGHTLIFTING SHOP are made from fine magnesium carbonate powder. It absorbs moisture from the sweaty hands and thus improves the grip on the bar. The powder serves as an additional layer between the skin and the bar. It thus protects against friction through the bar and prevents bubbles from forming.

During production, the fine magnesium carbonate powder is compressed into solid blocks. Dust formation when rubbing the powder on the palms of the hands is thus reduced to a minimum. The magnesium carbonate blocks can be used in many ways. For example in weightlifting, powerlifting or also for crosstraining.

Why use Gym Chalk?

In Olympic weightlifting, strength training and cross-training, magnesia improves the grip on the bar. At the same time, it also protects, to a certain extent, against friction from the bar.

Our hands also sweat, especially during sporting activities. Sweat makes our hands soft. If you have soft and slightly damp hands, you will quickly catch blisters on the bar or risk tearing the thicker calluses on the exposed areas of the palms.

You should always rub your palms with magnesia before coming into contact with the bar. It doesn’t matter whether you lift the bar or hang from the bar. Magnesia is a kind of additional layer between the skin and the iron.
